Mamas! I have so much love for you!
As a mother, you are navigating through the hardest job in the world. An unending, 24/7 position. Modern motherhood is full of endless, overwhelming difficulties that wrack moms with mental, emotional and physical stress. While many topics related to parenthood are more openly discussed and approached (such as difficult decisions regarding working or staying at home, schooling and disciplining decisions, etc.), the difficult and transitive inner-world experience of mothers is one that gets quieted, shamed and stigmatized. In fact, this can make motherhood painfully isolating and lonely.
As a mother of young children, I bring personal understanding and empathy to the struggles parents face. From new motherhood, to the transitive role a parent must employ throughout your child’s growing years, parenting is HARD. New mothers don’t get nearly the support they need or deserve, and modern culture brings forth additional stressors like isolation, judgement and guilt, difficult career choices and immense financial pressures. With these stressors, post-partum depression and anxiety become all too common, in addition to identity and role transition struggles. I am able to combine my therapeutic training and my own personal experience to offer support and empathy, strength and empowerment, and effective solutions.
New mamas, I get that it can be hard to leave your littles. Maybe you aren’t ready, or maybe you don’t have care– you are more than welcome to bring baby to therapy!
